How a Dubai Polyclinic Drove 15 Local Conversions in 7 Days at 1.28 AED Cost Per Click
Most medical clinics in Dubai are advertising on Google and Meta.
Very few are doing it in a way that actually drives patients through the door.
The gap is almost always the same: broad targeting, generic creatives, and a conversion funnel that asks patients to do too much before they can speak to someone. In a market where a patient will open three clinic websites in 60 seconds before calling the first number that responds, every extra click you ask for is a patient you lose.
This case study covers how we built a structured, platform-specific paid advertising system for a multi-specialty polyclinic in Dubai and generated 15 measurable local conversions inside the first seven days of active spend.
Client Overview
Type: Multi-specialty polyclinic
Location: Dubai, UAE (Liwan/Amaya Mall area)
Services: Dental care, cosmetic aesthetics, laser treatments, general medicine
Campaign period: June 2026
Weekly ad budget: AED 1,732 (Meta + Google combined)
Daily ad spend: ~AED 124/day
The clinic had recently launched in a residential and mall-adjacent location. The priority was building immediate local awareness and generating patient enquiries specifically for their highest-demand services: dental and aesthetic treatments.
The Challenge
A new clinic in a competitive Dubai location faces a specific problem. Brand awareness is zero. The local community does not know you exist. And unlike established clinics that can rely on word-of-mouth and repeat patients, every lead has to come from paid media at launch.
The challenge was not just generating traffic it was generating the right traffic: local residents within reach of the clinic who were actively looking for dental or aesthetic services and ready to book.
We had to build a paid media system from scratch, structured for immediate local conversion, not vanity metrics.

Our Strategy
Campaign Architecture: Three-Layer Funnel
We designed a three-campaign structure on Meta that mirrors how local patients make healthcare decisions:
Campaign 01 Lead Campaign: Designed to capture high-intent users ready to book. Objective: lead form submissions and direct WhatsApp conversations.
Campaign 02 WhatsApp Engagement Campaign: For users who had seen the brand but had not yet converted. Objective: initiate a direct conversation through WhatsApp the most natural contact method for UAE patients.
Campaign 03 Traffic + Reach Campaign: For cold audiences in the local residential cluster. Objective: build brand recognition and retarget these users with the WhatsApp and Lead campaigns.
This three-layer architecture is specifically designed for healthcare: build awareness first, then retarget with a frictionless conversion path.
Google Ads: Local Search + Performance Max
We launched three simultaneous Google campaigns:
Search campaign (dental): Targeting high-intent keywords specific to the clinic's location. Search terms included "best dentist in Dubai," "dental clinic Liwan," "polyclinic near me," and branded terms. These were the highest-converting keywords producing 11 conversions directly from search.
Performance Max (Pmax) campaign: Running across Google's full network Search, Display, Gmail, and YouTube. This campaign produced 63 conversions and 831 clicks at an average CPC of just 0.44 AED, making it the most cost-efficient campaign in the account.
Demand Generation campaign: Focused on discovery-stage users building brand presence ahead of a search.
Audience Targeting: Platform-Specific Approach

One of the most important decisions in this campaign was recognising that Meta and Google were attracting fundamentally different audiences and designing creatives and CTAs accordingly.
Meta audience: Female, 25–44, Instagram-dominant. Instagram accounted for 84% of total Meta reach. The audience was predominantly female (10,944 female reach vs. 653 male). The most effective creatives were dental and aesthetic, specifically "Confident Smile" and makeover-themed content. WhatsApp was the conversion action.
Google audience: 63% Male, age 25–34. Male users searching on Google were looking for specific, actionable services: "best dentist," "clinic near me," "directions." Conversion actions here were phone calls, map directions, and click-to-chat. We did not try to push them into a booking form.
This gender and platform split informed every creative decision. Female-led visuals with aesthetic and smile-focused messaging on Instagram. Service-led, location-specific copy on Google for the male search audience.
The Results

Top-performing creative: Arabic-language dental promotion ad: 4,849 reach, 47 clicks, 5 WhatsApp conversations started.
Top platform: Instagram 15,145 impressions, 9,681 reach, 13 messaging conversations, 47 profile visits.

Key Learnings
1. Performance Max is underused in healthcare, and it should not be.
The Pmax campaign delivered 831 clicks at 0.44 AED CPC. For a new clinic with zero brand recognition, Pmax allowed Google's machine learning to find relevant audiences across the entire network at a fraction of Search-only costs.
2. Instagram reaches the female healthcare audience at scale, but WhatsApp closes the deal.
Instagram generated the highest reach and profile visits. But the conversion happened on WhatsApp. Designing the funnel so Instagram awareness feeds directly into a WhatsApp conversation is the most effective patient acquisition path for aesthetic and gynaecology services in this market.
3. Arabic-language creatives outperform English for local residential audiences.
The highest-performing ad in this campaign was an Arabic-language dental promotion. For Liwan, Baniyas, and similar residential areas in the UAE, Arabic-first creative is not optional; it is the strategy.
4. Male patients search. Female patients scroll.
Google Ads attracted a 63% male audience actively searching for services. Meta attracted a predominantly female audience discovering the brand through social. Different platforms. Different journeys. Different conversion actions. Your ad strategy must reflect this, or you will pay for clicks that do not convert.
What This Means for Your Clinic
A new or growing clinic in Dubai does not need a massive budget to generate real patient enquiries.
It needs the right structure.
The right platform for each service. The right creative for each audience. And a conversion path that removes friction, not a form that adds it.
At Slicky Media, we build healthcare paid media campaigns around how UAE patients actually search, scroll, and decide, not around generic best practices that do not apply to this market.
